The Email Marketing Playbook

The Email Marketing Playbook

by Dr. Jesse Suess

As a small business owner, you’ve likely dabbled in the idea of email marketing in the past. Here at MCM, we believe that email marketing is the most effective way at communicating directly with your patient base.

The cold truth is that most Chiropractors aren’t emailing their patient base, or they are utilizing email only for office updates (i.e., Holiday Office Hours). When asked why they don’t utilize email more in their practice we get answers like “I don’t know where to start” or “It’s too time-consuming.” These are all common misconceptions about email marketing.

When utilized effectively, email marketing can be one of the most effective tools for improving re-activations in your practice. And if this is a hole in your practice’s marketing strategy, you can literally be missing out on potential revenue.

Effective ways to utilize email marketing:

  • Onboarding Sequence

  • Birthday Emails

  • Educational Emails

  • Office updates

  • Retargeting your audience with Facebook ads

Our Email Content Philosophy

During my days as a coaching client with MCM, Dr. Christie would talk about “The QVC principle” when it came to email marketing.

The QVC principle states “75% of your content should be PBS (educational) and 25% QVC (sale-oriented)”. In other words, you should NOT be using your email campaigns as simply a way to sell, but instead, you should be using your content as a platform to educate your community. This will make your emails less like “spam” and more like a newsletter. Here are some essentials to a good email.

Essentials of a good email

  • Header with Logo

  • Short catchy Headline

  • Body (educational)

  • Book Now button

  • Media (Image or video)

One of our goals for 2022 is to begin to produce short videos to show our followers how easy it can be to get started with email marketing and similar tools to grow your practice, and more importantly how much can be automated to actually save you time in your practice. So make sure that you are subscribed to our new YouTube account to follow along!
